Learning Outcomes
• The different types of materials, fibres and yarns.
• The production of garment patterns using the tailor’s square.
• The environmental issues related to pollution and the economic use of material.
• The different types of stitches.
• The different types of hems and seams.
• The steps for sewing garments fasteners, zips, buttons, hooks and eyes.
• The cutting of fabric materials into the desired shape and form to specified tolerances.
• The steps for making simple garments such as skirts and trousers, simple blouses and shirts, simple collars and cuffs, the making of frocks and dresses, the box jacket with one piece sleeve.
