Foundation in Visual Arts I (13 years) - MQF Level 2 - Visual and Performing Arts

32 weeks commencing from October 2018
Entry Requirements
A date will be set in September for the reviewing of the applicant's drawings and paintings.
Learning Outcomes

Through this module, learners will have the opportunity to delve deeper in techniques carrying out activities using well-defined tasks, such as effectively using the sketchbook/visual journal for experimentation and keeping record of work. Furthermore, learners will be able to respond to given themes and create artwork based on research in 2D, 3D, and also mixed media techniques. Learners will also be able to explain and discuss a very basic understanding of colour theory. At this level, learners will be also introduced to self-evaluation processes to interpret and comprehend their work, be able to use examples and cite key artists and artworks.  

1. Complete a visual journal to show process of ideas being developed.
2. Use and apply simple techniques in drawing, painting and 3D.
3. Demonstrate understanding of the colour theory.
4. Develop an idea through a project based on a given theme.

Class-based tasks and discussions, visual journals, rubric, self-assessment tasks, portfolios, projects and in conclusion an end of year exhibition.

 As acceptance in the course is on a first come first served basis your application may fall under the waiting list should the number of applied students reach the maximum allowed in a class.
