Foundation in Visual Arts II (14+ years) - MQF Level 3 - Visual and Performing Arts

A date will be set in September for the reviewing of the applicant's drawings and paintings.
Learning Outcomes

This module at level 3 develops on three main areas of study. These are drawing, painting and printmaking. Supported by the use of the sketchbook/visual journal, the well-defined tasks of this module provides learners with stimulating challenges in both practical and theoretical experiences. The module itself unfolds on the importance of mark making, medium and space in a drawing context, where new acquired and further developed skills will aid the learners to extend their continuous learning also through painting and printmaking. Supported by self-evaluation processes and through thematic approaches, the module takes the learners on a journey of discovery where objects, spaces and places, both outdoor and indoor can be transformed from the ordinary into the extraordinary through different expressive media.

 
1. Appreciate artistic works of selected authors.
2. Complete a visual journal to show process of ideas being developed.
3. Apply knowledge and skills to complete drawing and painting works.
4. Produce a series of prints using different printmaking techniques.
