Register and include your details. Click on ‘COURSES’, choose the subject you would like to apply for and click on ‘APPLY’. Fill in the required details. Then click on the icons ‘ACCEPT’ and ‘SUBMIT’.
Next, you will be asked to pay (if applicable) using your Debit Card or Credit Card.
When the application and payment are submitted, you will receive an automatically generated e-mail acknowledging your application and confirming receipt of payment. This acknowledgement e-mail, unless otherwise communicated from the Directorate’s office, should be treated as your acceptance letter to the course and is to be presented in class on course commencement.
If you do not receive this e-mail it means that your application has not been successfully submitted. It could also mean that you did not include an e-mail address or that the e-mail address was not inputted correctly. In this case we suggest that you call on 153 or e-mail
lifelonglearning@gov.mt.

REGISTRATION RIGHTS
Kindly note the following Terms & Conditions.
Registration payment (where applicable) is indicated in each Course Group section.
For a class to be formed, a minimum number of students must register. In most cases, this minimum is 10.
The Director for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability reserves the right to change this number for a particular subject based on its importance.
Classes that have fewer students throughout the year may be joined or closed to ensure a sustainable service.
It is preferable to apply online to ensure immediate registration.
Individuals from foreign countries have to present their legal documentations. One may not request a visa for a long stay on the pretence of applying for any of the courses.
PAYMENT
The payment for applicants is as follows:
Applicants who are:
(a) citizens of Malta; or
(b) citizens of other Member States of the European Union who are entitled to equal treatment to Maltese citizens in matters of employment by virtue of EU legislation and treaty provisions dealing with the free movement of workers; or
(c) citizens of any other country who are entitled to equal treatment to Maltese citizens in matters related to employment by virtue of the application to that country of EU legislation and treaty provisions dealing with the free movement of workers; or
(d) any other persons who are entitled to equal treatment to Maltese citizens in matters related to employment in terms of the law or the above-mentioned EU legislation and treaty provisions, on account of their family relationship with persons mentioned in paragraph (a), (b) or (c); or
(e) third country nationals who have been granted long-term resident status in Malta under regulation 4 of the “Status of Long-Term Residents (Third Country Nationals) Regulations, 2006” or who have been granted a residence permit under regulation 18(3) thereof, together with family members of such third country nationals who have been granted a residence permit under the “Family Reunification Regulations, 2007”
Will pay the following fees:
(i) Short Courses ( maximum of 14 weeks): €18.63;
(ii) Courses longer than 14 weeks up to 32 weeks: €34.94;
(iii) Courses that lead to the Intermediate Level and/or Advanced or Level 4 and Courses related to Information Technology: €46.59;
(iv) Courses offered at the Lifelong Learning Centre in Imsida which are held in the morning (except Computer Courses): €11.65.
(v) Applicants who do not fall into any of the above categories will need to pay double the amount indicated. For instance, for Short Courses, the payment due would be €37.26.
Once you have made your payment, please keep a printed copy of your receipt to present to your tutor on the first day of attendance of each course. This receipt is your acceptance letter to the course and learners will not be allowed to attend the course without it.
There will be no changes to the registration of courses after payment is made, except in the case of courses that have to be cancelled.
EXEMPTION FROM PAYMENT
The following are exempted from payment:
(i)Adults who qualify under (a), (b), (c), (d) and (e) under the above subtitle “Payment” and who apply for the Introductory Courses in literacy (Maltese and English) and numeracy (Mathematics).
(ii)Those in possession of the Senior Citizens Card (Kartanzjan) do not pay for their first course. However all subsequent courses applied for during the scholastic year 2018-2019 will need to be paid for.
(iii)Applicants who, due to social reasons declare that they cannot afford the relevant fee, have to apply in person and not through the online service. They will then need to fill in and sign the necessary form, which is to be verified and approved by the Director for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability after consultation with the Department of Social Services.
(iv)Applicants who feel they are entitled to payment exemption require permission to be issued by the appropriate Board within the Ministry for Education and Employment. This exemption has to be obtained before the course commences, otherwise payment will be required. If the exemption is received after the payment is made, the applicant will be entitled to a payment refund. Applicants will need to acquire this Exemption Form and apply at the Ministry’s Board.
PAYMENT REFUND
No refund will be granted except when changes are made directly by the Directorate.
A course may be held or terminated at the discretion of the Director for Research, Lifelong Learning and Employability, in which case the applicants are entitled to a full refund pro-rata, provided that they will not be the cause for the termination of the course in question.
