Entry Requirements

Learners are expected to have successfully completed the course Greek MQF Level 2 or have a similar certification. For online lessons, learners need to have an understanding on how to use a computer

Learning Outcomes

Expected learning outcomes for this course inlcude:

Knowledge
• Understanding of the main points of clear standard spoken Greek on familiar topics (e.g. work, school, leisure).
• Knowledge of key grammatical structures in Greek, including more complex verb tenses such as the past continuous and subjunctive.
• Understanding of a range of written text types, including articles, narratives, and short informational texts.
• Awareness of Greek cultural customs, idiomatic expressions, and social norms relevant to communication.

Skills
• Understand the main ideas of spoken Greek in familiar contexts.
• Engage in conversations on routine and some non-routine topics, expressing opinions and preferences   with moderate fluency.
• Read and interpret short texts, articles, and narratives with improved comprehension.
• Write structured texts such as emails, personal letters, and short essays using appropriate vocabulary and grammar.
• Use key grammatical structures with increasing accuracy in spoken and written communication.

Competences
• Communicate meaningfully and appropriately in Greek in everyday and learning contexts.
• Participate in conversations with growing confidence, clarity, and control of language.
• Apply language skills independently to understand, express, and exchange information.
• Demonstrate cultural awareness and appropriate language use when interacting in Greek-speaking contexts.
