I believe that learning opportunities are not only provided in a classroom. Cultural excursions, which we cater for, are also a form of learning in itself. Like when we take people to the National Archives and various historical sites.

This repository is part of the National Lifelong Learning Strategy 2023 – 2030. Pillar II, Strategic Measure 4, Action 2

“Raise awareness and increase participation in informal and non-formal learning opportunities by creating an easily accessible repository of such opportunities on the LL portal.”

Adults learn in multiple ways and many different contexts outside of formal education and training structures. Skills development can follow as a by-product of their daily activities, even when learning was not the primary goal or intention.

Formal Learning
Formal Learning Learning is intentional from the learners’ point of view, and it typically leads to certification. Informal Learning A learning process resulting from daily life activities related to work, family, or leisure by which an individual acquires and accumulates knowledge, skills, attitudes, insight, and competences from daily experiences, and exposure to one’s environment.
Informal Learning Non-formal learning
Informal Learning A learning process resulting from daily life activities related to work, family, or leisure by which an individual acquires and accumulates knowledge, skills, attitudes, insight, and competences from daily experiences, and exposure to one’s environment.
Non-formal Learning Learning is embedded in a planned activity organised outside the formal educational system, and this activity is not explicitly designed as learning but contains an important learning component.
